Logo design in Pretoria and the corporate identity that follows it

People looking for logo design in Pretoria usually worry about two things: the cost, and getting stuck with something they don’t like. The cost depends on the package. The steps below deal with the second worry.

Logo design in Pretoria, step by step

You’ll deal with Pedro Loureiro, who has been designing since 2005.

Step 1

Your brief

A few questions about your business, your customers and the look you like. You can upload logos you admire, or a rough concept. It’s fine if you made that concept with AI.

Step 2

3 logo options

Mascot logos have 1 option only, and we then make revisions on it.

Step 3

You pick one

You pick the one you like and we refine it from there.

Step 4

You approve the logo

Only then do we start on the rest of your corporate identity, such as stationery and a style guide.

Step 5

Your final files

AI, PDF, SVG and PNG, with a colour reference guide. We can supply other formats if you ask.

A logo typically takes 7 to 15 working days, depending on how quickly feedback comes back and how many revisions it needs in the end. Time spent waiting for your feedback isn’t included.

Logo design, Startup or Executive

The three corporate identity packages build on each other.

Logo design

The logo, 3 options to choose from, files ready for print and screen, and a colour reference guide.

Startup

The most popular. Adds a business card, matching letterhead, branded email signature and social media cover image.

Executive

Adds a brand style guide (a CI manual) with the rules for using your identity, colour and typeface details, logo construction grids and stationery layout rules.

If printers, signage companies or your own staff will be using the logo, the style guide is what keeps it consistent. If it’s only going on your business card and email for now, you can leave Executive for later.

If none of the options feels right

We make new options, as long as your brief hasn’t changed, and we use your feedback to get closer to what you have in mind. If the direction changes completely, that’s a new brief, so we quote it as a new project.

A clear brief at the start avoids that.

Before you brief us, have these ready

  1. Your name

Your business name and any slogan, exactly as they should appear.

  2. Your market

Who your customers and main competitors are.

  3. What you like

Logos or brands you like, and why you like them.

  4. Where it goes

Where the logo will be used most, such as signage, vehicles, packaging or online.

Where our logos end up

One logo has to work on a business card, a letterhead, an app icon and the back of a hoodie.

There’s more on our corporate identity page, and mascot logos are on the esports branding page. Once the identity is done, it carries through to packaging and marketing material.

Questions about logos

What is the difference between a logo and a corporate identity?

A logo is one mark. A corporate identity is the full look of your business: logo, colours, fonts, stationery and the rules for using them.

Will my logo be made by AI?

No. We may use AI for early concepts, but your final logo is built by a person as clean vector artwork. Our How we use AI page explains the rest.

Do I own my logo when the job is done?

Yes, but only after the final payment of the logo or CI package.

Can you refresh my existing logo?

Yes. We can start from scratch, or keep what works and modernise the rest.

Should I register my logo as a trade mark?

We don't do trade mark or copyright registration. That's your responsibility as the client.

Do you only work with Pretoria businesses?

No. We're based in Pretoria East, and we work with clients anywhere in South Africa and abroad.
